25 Years of Dome Records
Celebrating A Quarter Of A Century With Dome Records
Dome is to celebrate its 25th birthday with a retrospective album collection titled “Dome 25 Years”, for release via all digital outlets on March 17.
This album has a 50 track collection that documents most of our UK soul lives since 1992 and we feel both the label and Peter deserve major respect.
Other artists in the label’s history to be featured are Beverley Knight, Hil St Soul, Dennis Taylor, Beverlei Brown, Incognito, Brenda Russell, Rahsaan Patterson, George Duke, Carleen Anderson, Don-E, Eric Roberson, Avery Sunshine, Anthony David, the James Taylor Quartet, Jarrod Lawson and Shaun Escoffery.
Says label founder Peter Robinson:
“Little did I know back in 1992, after working for major labels in A&R during my early career, that it would be possible to survive as an independent specialising in soul music for a quarter of a century. I still can’t quite believe it today. Of course, having had the good fortune to work with so many outstanding artists has had a lot to do with it. We have been blessed.”

For the last 25 years, Dome Records has been one of the very few most consistent Independent British Record labels serving up quality worldwide Soul music to the UK.
Founded and artistically spearheaded by UK industry veteran Peter Robinson (with much help of his wife Santosh) Peter has a wonderful legacy of musical history.
Peter Robinson had previously worked at major labels including MCA (Universal), CBS (Sony), RCA/BMG and Chrysalis, the last two as Head of A&R began his working life as a journalist on the Brighton Argus daily newspaper, where he followed Anne Nightingale as the music reviewer.
Passionate about black music from a young age, his very first concert in London was a young Ray Charles with his big band and the Raelettes in 1963.
He found it an electrifying experience, and his love of black music has continued throughout a music career that has seen him working with such legends as Luther Vandross, Maurice White, The Emotions, Deniece Williams, the Jacksons, D-Train, Bobby Womack , Jean Carn, The Isley Brothers , The Jones Girls and Michael Jackson
Since starting Dome he has taken Lulu back into the Top 20, discovered Beverley Knight, broken Hil St Soul onto the US Billboard R&B charts, given Rahsaan Patterson a new label home following his departure from MCA, and released two albums by the late George Duke. More recently he has introduced Europe to the talents of Jarrod Lawson and given Shaun Escoffery’s music career a stunning new lease of life.
