In May 1972 Keith M Jackson was born that same year Bruce Lee Died…clearly not enough room on this planet for 2 badasses…!
Anyway, Keefy saw fun in hearing himself choking to near death with a packet of cheese and onion golden wonders crisp, while recording his voice…when he was 7.
Having fun playing music at family parties led to doing a church club, as the DJ of course along with Lambeth summer youth projects, in between doing house parties. At 15 Keefy began on hospital radio and also his first ever, live pirate radio show, on DLR, Direct Line Radio1987, which was based in Dulwich.
At 17 Keith moved stations and began on Radio Kings, around the same time Keith completed a BBC Radio training course, which led him to helping out on Ranking miss P’s Sunday evening show on GLR, where he learned from the good man Syd Burke there was so much more to radio…Thank you Syd.
Keith perfected his craft at London’s Choice FM, where he learnt the fine art of production. All of which took place in a relative short period between 1991-94. Radio was where Keefy wanted to be and he found himself on LWR (London Weekend Radio). Doing an off the cuff anything goes 10pm show, Friday Nights…In 2003 Keefy went into mentoring youngster who were not at school, into gaining radio skills. He coupled this with another role as a play worker whilst still broadcasting on various Internet stations.
2012 saw Keefy eventually join the team at Mi-Soul, where he used his skills doing Production and for a short while co presenting with Gordon Mac on his Saturday afternoon show. This led to Keefy getting an afternoon show.
Keith is now the voice of the Station, producing promos and jingles and he also now presents the Saturday morning breakfast show from 6am.
Keefys life continues…with you. X
