We chat to our listeners from all over the world in various jobs and professions about their love for soul music, and of course, Mi-Soul and this week we chat to DJ and producer LaSoul from South Africa.
What are you biggest passions?
Well it’s quite simple…making music, DJing and discovering sounds from all over the globe.
When and how did your love for soul music begin?
Wow…where do I start? It began way back in 1999 when I heard a DJ rocking some tunes that were touching me deep inside on a local radio here in South Africa. That DJs name is Vinny Da Vinci. Since that day I fell in love with soulful house music and I’ve never looked back.
What is your favourite Soul track?
Without a doubt, Kim English – ‘Been So Long’.
What music artist inspires you the most?
There are a couple, but I’d have to say Jamie Odell AKA Jimpster
When did you start listening to Mi-Soul?
Over two years ago, after meeting one of the DJs that you feature on Mi-Soul Radio, Johnny Miller, while he was on tour in my country- South Africa.
Which Mi-Soul show do you enjoy the most or look forward to and why?
The Mother Land show…since it hosts some of the best DJs and house producers, some which I look up to like Johnny Milller and D-Malice.
Thanks LaSoul for chatting to us and stay locked in to Mi-Soul for good music!
