A DJ since the age of fourteen Mike’s love of all things Jazz, Funk and Soul began in early 80’s when he moved to Magaluf to work at Tokio Joes. The lure of playing records in the sunshine and all the trappings that went with it was too tempting an opportunity for the 18 year old to turn down so he left his native North Wales and his emersion into music began in earnest.
Mike Vitti’s radio career began in 1987 and since then he has presented programmes non-stop playing a Funky blend of Jazz, Funk, Soul and Boogie. Mike’s been with Mi-Soul since December 2012 and ‘loves absolutely every second of it.’
Mike has been lucky enough to meet and interview some of the biggest names in music including: Nile Rodgers, Lionel Richie, Bobby Womack, George Duke, Anita Baker, Isaac Hayes, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Warren G, Roy Ayers, Frankie Beverly and the sadly departed Teena Marie and countless others too many to mention. The one that got away was Luther Vandross.
Mike DJs and promotes events across the UK, and can be seen most weekends at Funky Nation in Ronnie’s Bar, Ronnie Scott’s in London.
