Mistri’s popularity grew through the eighties and nineties to establish him as a firm pioneer for the Rare Groove Movement. Touring Europe and Jamaica with Saxon Sound System with his selection of Soul, Reggae, Calypso, Ragga and R&B.
In recognition of his talents the Black Entertainers Enterprise voted him Best Club DJ. The Voice Entertainment’s Enterprise, Best Radio Personality 1988-89, West End Promotions and Best Club DJ 1990. In 1998 he was a nominee for Best Club DJ at the prestigious MOBO Awards & recently (2001) received The Black Music Peoples Award for Outstanding Contributions to the British music scene.
