Bob Masters and Abi Clarke

Mi-Soul Radio have been itching to announce the news that the legendary soulboy Bob Masters will be joining our presenter team. He also has a rather delectable co-host in the form of Abi Clarke who will certainly add her wonderfully eclectic flavours to the airwaves. We fired some questions their way to reveal a little more about why we can’t wait for this dynamic duo…Have You Two Presented A Show On Air Before?Bob: I have been interviewed and played a few tracks on Abi’s Soho Radio show.Abi: Yes, Bob was a very special guest on a weekly show ‘West End Girls’ that I cohosted on Soho Radio. Not only did he play some wonderful music, his stories were the best entertainment. My only regret is that he told some of the best ones off air (although maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing!).What Will Be Great About Doing The Show Together?Bob: Myself and my wonderful friend Abi have a beatiful synergy, passion and love for what we do. We always have a real belly laugh about something or other, but the music always comes first. I think we’ll both love the fact that it’s live……meaning anything could happen 🙂Abi: Spending a couple of hours playing my favourite music with a very dear friend and inspirational DJ … Thank you Mi Soul for this lovely opportunity! What Kind Of Music Will You Play?Bob: Absolutely everything and anything with a soul. Abi loves her mid-tempo head nodders, while I love my house and jazzy stuff, but we both love introducing the new, while still respecting the old.Abi: As Bob said, anything soulful. We both love a wide range of music and radio is a great place to share stuff you may not always be able to play for the dance floor. Old favourites and new gems. What Artists Are You Currently Loving?Bob: Charlie James Band, Seb Skalski, Diephuis and Dan Rubell.Abi: I love a young London based producer called Reginald Omas Mamode IV,  The All Together EP. Check his track ‘Fussin and Fighting’. A tune that also stopped me in my tracks recently was Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal ‘Parts of a Man’… stunning. If  You Could Urge People To ReCollect One Album, What Would it Be?Bob: Bobbi Humphrey’s Blacks and Blues, 0ne of the greatest albums ever made and totally timelessAbi: There are so many… but I will go with, D’Angelo Voodoo as it’s a modern classic. What Are You Most Looking Forward To, For The Rest Of This Year?Bob: Mostly DJ’ing, I love it and have lots of great bookings.Abi: Lots of great parties coming up… The Bournemouth Soul Jam is soon approaching…three days of great music and the loveliest music loving friendly bunch of people… bring it on!When’s Your First Show on Mi-Soul Radio? Wednesday 22nd September 2016, 7pm – 9pm. The show will also be available on Mixcloud to listen back!
