Ronnie Scott Hosts 2nd Musical Instrument Amnesty
Please help spread the word so that Ronnie Scott’s end up with lots of instruments that make lots of children happy!
The second Ronnie Scott’s Musical Instrument Amnesty is taking place at the club between 10am and 4pm at on Saturday 28th October.
Designed to give a new lease of life to unused or unwanted instruments, Ronnie Scotts are asking you to donate those items to help young, aspiring musicians both in the UK and abroad. All of the donated instruments will be sent to children whose access to music education has been compromised due to their social situation and/or their geographical location.
This year, the organisations involved include: music charities working in poor areas in London who offer free music tuition to children that can’t afford it, a school working with children with special needs, a charity working with refugees in the UK, and organizations working in war-torn areas of the world.
Anyone who wants to donate can pop into Ronnie Scott’s on Frith Street in Soho anytime between 10am and 4pm on 28th October and bring the instrument(s) or equipment they wish to donate with them (no pianos please).
Each donor will then be issued with a tracking number too so they can follow their instrument to its final destination.
This is such a great initiative, do pop down to the club that day if you can, and you just never know who you may bump in to while you’re there.
