Mark “Deadly” Smedley started his love of Soul, Jazz, Funk, Dance and Reggae in the late 70’s, being educated at the school of Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards and David Rodigan. His career took off when he landed the position of Head of Production at Kiss 100 and presented specialist and daytime shows. Deadly has held DJ residencies and appeared at almost every London nightclub as well as the main London Hotels for Black Tie Corporate Events.
Deadly left Kiss 100 in 1999 and set up Deadly Productions, producing radio commercials primarily for large record companies whilst taking a break from presenting on air but he wasn’t ready to hang up his decks forever, and started to present Mi-Afternoons from 1-4pm every weekday for over 3 years in 2015, and then reduced his output to once a week for 3 years in 2018, on a Saturday
morning with Deadly’s Saturday Breakfast featuring humour, nostalgic throwback, soulful anthems, mixes and more.
In 2021 Deadly decided to concentrate on the production of Mi-Soul adverts, promo’s and station imaging which keeps him extremely busy in the studio and now only presents rare fill in shows and occasional live DJ appearances.
