Lukas Setto - Make It Rain

This week’s One To Watch comes from Lukas Setto.

The rising UK star came on scene with his infectious soulful cuts  ‘What Turns You On’, in 2018 and the nostalgic groove ‘OMG’ in 2019, while gaining new soul fans peforming around the UK.  Now he’s kicking off 2020 with a teaser track  ‘Make It Rain’  thou it is not confirmed if this is part of a new project, we look forward to hearing more from Lukas Setto this year.

Independent artist Caitlyn Scarlett has well over 7 million streams on Spotify alone and has landed on new music Friday playlists in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Japan. After signing a publishing deal with BMG in summer 2017 she has been in high demand for her writing. Roc Nation personally requested her to join the Rihanna writing camp that took place in London in 2016. During the camp, she wrote with the likes of DJ Dahi (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean), Melo x (Beyoncé) and Levi Lennox (M.I.A, Krept & Konan, Zayn Malik).

Jvck James - 'On My Way'

East London born and bred 19-year-old Jvck James is already creating a buzz with his blend of tasteful soul music taking in influences from the 90’s greats such as D’Angelo & Lauren Hill whilst giving a nod to the likes of Khalid & Frank Ocean. Ruby Francis – 'All of The Time'

Singer, songwriter and producer Ruby Francis has just dropped her new single ‘All of The Time’ from her brand new EP ‘To Be Fair’. Since Francis stepped on the scene she has been making a name for herself with singles such as ‘Move’, ‘On My Knees’ and ‘Traffic Lights’. Being influenced by the likes of Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder, Francis has a soulful and sensual vibe which brings something new and fresh to the game, really putting her own stamp on her music.

Raye ft. Maleek Berry, Nana Rogues - 'Confidence'

Raye has teamed up with Maleek Berry and Nana Rogues on her new single ‘Confidence’. Her new EP ‘Side Tape features six tracks including Raye’s recent hit singles ‘Decline’ and ‘Cigarette’. Golbey has shared the stage with artists like Katy B, Ed Sheeran and Jessie Ware amongst others and is no stranger to the music industry. This is a brand new single from her EP due out towards the end of this year.

Noel McKoy - My Lady's Gone (Rob Hardt Remix)

Noel McKoy is a British-based soul music singer. His music is a collection of soul, gospel, funk and Northern soul.  McKoy's musical journey started when he and his siblings released the songs 'I'm Lucky' and 'Family' in 1989.  His latest album, Brighter Days, was released in 2009 under soul label Tri-Sound.

Ruff Diamond, Taz, Wanja Janeva - Extra High

Manchester, UK based record label SupaEarth Records let off their latest release – SUPA003 - ‘Extra High’. ‘Extra High’ is a collaboration between UK based DJ / Producer Ruff Diamond, Glitterbox Recordings signed artist TAZ, and the aspiring, and much-loved Berlin artist- Wanja Janeva. A serious funk heavy 120 BPM Disco track, the story behind this record is an interesting one. Earlier this year, TAZ was perched at the top of the Traxsource Chart feat alongside Inaya Day on the legendary Mousse T’s outstanding record ‘Rock The Mic’ (Glitterbox Recordings / Defected Records), a track that you now hear regularly played out everywhere. Combining with the talents of Wanja Janeva, the three came together and smashed out the track during an overnight session in a South London studio.

Lukas Setto - What Turns You On

This week’s One to Watch is a track by Lukas Setto. Raised on the essential mix of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gay & Stevie and the wonders of his DJ Dad’s record collection, Lee studied popular music at Stanmore College, Middlesex and it was there he was to craft his first composition. Later he explored the collective vocal harmony experience with a boy band but then realised that to graft solo was to be his way forward.

In 2012, Stone Paxton produced and co-wrote a Billboard Top 100 Hit in the U.S. & Top 20 in the U.K. called "Steppin' " by Prince protege and New Power Generation's Marva King featuring Christopher Williams. Paxton has worked in the studio on projects with artists and producers that have paved the way for the artists of today such as Grammy award-winning producer Jerry Marcellino who produced the song "Ben" for Micheal Jackson.
