This week’s fantastic One to Watch is ‘Moment’ by The Silhouettes Project , Geejay and Outrageous Claims.

Ahead of their sold out show at Koko this March , and their album release on 16 February – The Silhouettes Project Volume 2 – comes this single from the UK collective of artists and producers ‘The Silhouettes Project ‘ on the Route 73 label.

The project provides a new platform for up and coming Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz artists from the UK. ‘ It is not a record label or management team, it is a community project’. The Silhouettes Project provides a space – a recording studio and live venue located within the Total Refreshment Centre in Hackney, London – where MCs, singers, musicians and producers can connect and create.

On ‘Moment’ , Geejay – Gina Jane (vocalist and songwriter) and Jacob Lobo (producer, saxophonist and keys)- have their signature soul/ funk vocals given a jazzy vibe by producer Outrageous Claims AKA Mayan, a London based producer with an eclectic style taken from influences of Jazz/Funk/Soul and sound system culture.
