This week’s One to Watch comes from distinctive UK vocalist and multi instrumentalist Don-E, with ‘Pull it up

Brixton – born , Grammy winning singer , songwriter and musician – touring worldwide with Grace Jones and Peter Gabriel in the past few years – Don-E is a familiar and much loved artist on the UK soul scene . 

Whilst still only 19, Don-E was signed to Island Records and recorded his debut, Unbreakable, which was released in 1992,  shortly after the summer hit, “Love Makes the World Go Round” scaled the international charts. Don-E wrote and produced the album, as well as providing the majority of the instrumentation. 

Since then his career has progressed and seen him working with international artists such as D’Angelo , releasing a further 8 albums over the years culminating in 2023’s ‘30’ , as well as making music and performing as part of The British Collective with Junior Giscombe, Omar and the late Noel McKoy . 

This , the first single from the as yet untitled new album , was inspired by The Jones Girl’s rare groove classic ‘ This Feeling’s Killing Me’ but turns it into a whole new infectious vibe.
