Mi-Soul Radio is very sad to hear the announcement on Friday 22nd January, that UK House DJ and producer, Phil Asher, sadly passed away at the age of 55.
He has been an important and beloved figure in the London dance community since the early nineties, successfully championing and bridging gaps between broken beat, house, soul, disco, and more, thru his endless amount of remixes and productions under groups and monikers such as, MusicLoveLife, Phlash, Restless Soul, Blak ‘N’ Spanish, Basic Soul, just to name a few.
His character, support to other DJs, influence, and musical selections, (thanks to his early days working at records shops including Quaff Records) are just only a handful of reasons why he will be missed by many.
We know this is a very difficult time for his family, friends, colleges, and fellow DJs, so we take this time to reflect and share some of the amazing shows and memories that Phil Asher contributed within the early stages of Mi-Soul in (2013 – 2014) with his Restless Show.
Tributes continue to sweep thru Social Media as news of his passing spread.
Take a look at just a few of those who learned of the news on Friday 22nd January 2021.
