We pick Superstar DJ Bailey’s brain and extract five of his very best current Drum n Bass releases.Congo Natty – Junglist (S.P.Y Remix)The original is such a massive classic that it might be hard to appreciate the S.P.Y remix at first. However, hear it in full glory on a pumping sound system and like me you’ll no doubt appreciate the way S.P.Y turned this one on it’s head by adding a his trademark beats and Reese bassline.Q Project – Champion Sound (DLR 2016 Remix) (CIA Recordings)Play any past version of this in a set and it smashes it everytime. This new version once again uses the trademark horn riff but with new racey and crisp beats.Another version getting rewinds just like the previous.Kemet Crew – Screwface (The Invaderz and Innaculture Remix) (Kemet Records)Great re-work here. No fancy tricks at all. Just an uncomplicated, subtle update that does the original justice. If you liked the original, you’ll definitely be feeling this version.Dillinja – Gangsta (Serum Remix) (Philly Blunt)King of the Jungle remix Serum goes to work on the king of Jungle bass ‘Dillinja’ with killer effect. This version uses more of the Terror Fabulous sample than the original from 1995. Your ragga Jungle selection is slipping without this one. Splash – Babylon (Embee 2016 Remix)An ear popping Amen break tearout here by Embee of one of the biggest ever anthems in Jungle music. Embee was one of the original artists from ‘Splash’s’ Splash Recordings label in the mid nineties. None one better could have given this it’s authenticity than him. Wait for this one, not online yet.Catch Bailey live on Mi-Soul Wednesdays, 11-1pm.
