Ronnie Herel presents The Big R&B Show Live

We are very happy to announce the return of Ronnie Herel presents The Big R&B Show Live at London’s luxurious Home Grown private members’ club, with performances from Blue Lab Beats, Melonyx and Mad Yella.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of an audience for a live radio show, with acoustic performances from three incredible artists. The show will run for three hours, and will be interspersed with interviews and short performances. We’ll be broadcasting the whole show LIVE on Mi-Soul, and you can watch the stream on Mixcloud.

Come and take a look behind the scenes of the longest running specialist R&B show in the UK! Find out more about the artists playing below:

Blue Lab Beats

Blue Lab Beats are a jazztronica duo from London, made up of producer NK-OK and multi-instrumentalist Mr DM. Their influences include jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk and R&B, and in 2020 they were signed to the legendary Blue Note records.

Melonyx

Georgia Copeland and Nadia Latoya met in Nottingham as teenagers while both performing at a local community arts centre where Georgia practiced dance and Nadia focused on music. Through providing backing vocals and arranging joint covers they joined forces to gig the Nottingham music scene; inevitably cultivating a longstanding desire to produce original music together.

United in music, the two songstresses formed MELONYX. Coming together as a multifaceted harmonic force, the pair embody contrast and compliment, ebb and flow, balance. MELONYX have performed at Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here Festival, toured with Acoustickle, received praise from Wordplay Magazine and supported events organised by soul legend Terri Walker.

Mad Yella

Mad Yella began in late 2018 as a 5-piece band of friends through university music studies. With a shared influence and love of Jazz-Funk, Neo Soul and R&B they instantly developed their own signature sound by writing as a collective and recording with a mutual respect for original and celebrated instrumentation.

Mad Yella have enjoyed a fantastic run of appearances since they released their first track ‘Sequoia’ in February 2019. Since then, they have grown to an 8 piece band and have released 4 more songs to critical acclaim in the UK, US, Australia and Europe. Mad Yella have performed their own headline gigs as well and shared a line-up with artists such as The Brand New Heavies, Soul II Soul and Omar. They look forward to supporting Maze and Frankie Beverly, De La Soul and Cameo in 2022.
