Super Vocal duo HanLei (aka Hannah K and Aleysha Lei) join Sy Sez on air for live performances including an acoustic special tonight on Mi-Soul Radio.

They will be talking about their journey so far, upcoming gis and their forthcoming tracks, including collaborations with Terry Hunter and Opolopo.

Hailing from East London, unforgettable powerhouse duo HanLei have been performing and creating music together for more than a decade. Their stunning vocal is undoubtedly rooted in soul, producing a timeless, richly layered sound that can only be described as captivating.

Refusing to pin their soul/jazz vocal down to any one genre of music, they take influence and inspiration from multiple genres including rock/indie, neo-soul, hip-hop, jazz and house music.

HanLei effortlessly blend their vocals to compliment any style of music and creatively adapt to produce jaw dropping arrangements both lyrically and vocally.

HanLei have consistently, for the past 9 years, been the only backing vocalists to tour with the legendary music and style icon, Grace Jones. They have performed, arranged and recorded with a multitude of world renowned artists, acquiring invaluable music industry experience throughout their careers. Their work includes worldwide tours, working with, directing and arranging for professional artists, choirs and bands. Hosting events, studio/band session work and backing/lead vocals for a wide selection of talented artists and bands.

Crossing their dynamic vocal with their love of house music, HanLei have created a catalogue of releases, with every single release to date charting Top 5 in house music’s leading chart (Traxsource).

Collaborations with highly respected producers, such as Rhemi, DJ Spen and Sean McCabe, have firmly cemented the HanLei name on the house music scene, their distinct vocal and superb lyrics now a signature of theirs.

Their empowering 2015 summer debut anthem ‘Diamond’ with Rhemi music, was championed by the likes of Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Sean McCabe, Joey Negro, Tony Humphries, Dj Spinna, Terry Hunter and more – and continues to shine being a ‘must have track’ in any DJ playlist.

The infamous Tuesday’s @ Troy Bar in Hoxton, is hosted by HanLei. This organic weekly open-mic night has seen the likes of Macy Gray, Erykah Badu, Jesse Glyn, Jessie J, Kelis and many more hit the stage and perform. It is well renowned for it’s incredible live music, great atmosphere and even better vocal talent.

Inclusive of touring and performing, HanLei are currently working on their debut E.P, delicious new music collaborations for 2017 and other hot future projects.
